Best merc in Game

i say HC or Fista (im still a firm believer in fista as long as it comes in 2s)

So hard to choose...
The squad around said "best" merc is the difference maker, but with the right set up I would say Mindflayer or Mac. Hellcat would have been my first choice but her stats will make her too antiquated in the not so distant future. Obviously I'm biased towards pvp performance.

I have no lethal experience, but if I had to pick I would say Golem. Granted I have no experience with him either, but I would have to go with him based on what I know. As a stand alone merc he has it all. In a one on one battle, I'm guessing only a commando has a chance? And at that point you have to figure in the whole epic vs lethal thing.

I forgot about Mac. He's pretty damn good. Mac-dbl gun-hc-dbl gun-mac diamond turtle all merc kill everything destroys anything its proc touches.

A double gun buffed by a hellcat will turn anything into a one shot killer

I have no personal experience with using Lethals (boohoo :-/) but I can confirm that Golem is freaking amazing and I think he's the best and I love him

The only Lethal I have experience with is an Odin ( which was pretty awesome in PvP, even though it wasn't buffed ). I'd like to rend a Daddy LongGuns one day since I'm a big fan of AGI mercs.

But one merc makes not a whole squad...event format (pvp raid or tower) preference must also be considered.

I love my Howitzer. Procs like crazy and is great for leveling. Add in a Golem buffed Titanfist, and you could have multiple procs on the first turn. Anxious to see how my revamped team does in pvp: Nox v2 - Howitzer v2 - Titan v2 - Golem - Titan v2.

Ya I won't fight that team even with my hc-mord combo those procs are too much

Norskie, your line up is probably great when you're attacking but I haven't had any issues beating it on the attack. Pre-battle is good but not when you go second.

^^ That's the same with mindflayer. This would make more of a difference if you lost points when you lost matches during pvp events (something I would LOVE to see happen). It would make mindflayer a mediocre merc.

As long as points would be deducted for losing both when attacking and defending, then it would be easier for the community to accept.

I really gotta go with Jackson Omega and I'm surprised nobody mentioned him yet. Post nerf he isn't quite as good obviously but he is still the most versatile merc I have. I can put him next to anything and that attack and agility buff will benefit it, even wisdom mercs since they will move faster and hit harder on auto attacks. I use him in every single event. Hell, him plus two tideslayers is all I need to farm level 10 of the tower. I usually level two mercs in the back row of the M formation while doing it. Jackson does it all.

This would just rape your squad even with proc manipulation. Hellcat can nuke the team, if not she'll give such a nice boost to Jackson which will make the Marcus hit so much. And if nothing actually procs, but buffs, you'll still go first + do a ton of damage with auto attacks.

I want to change my list...given current conditions favoring atk i think helio is prolly best atm...golem is god-tier e4...

No one is going to mention Tideslayer? God tier agility, two dps skills, 35% AoE Agi skill proc rate, and an ATK based skill with a silence.

Modifiers are too low for me. And for me 2 attack skills are only good thing if its full nuke or the agi is really high on the merc

I second the notion that Tideslayer is up there. I plan on running Fista - Tideslayer - Jackson - Tideslayer - Fista in the upcoming PVP event. Let me know how it goes for you guys.

^I don't fight hellcats buffing anything but I'd take hellcat buffing a lot of things over a hellcat buffing a mord.

Hellcat used to be a better version of Siren because of the 400% Modifier and 100% WIS Buff, now it's more like a Ulfr of the Lion with the buff.  Siren still one of my favourite mercs in the game, doesn't need a buff to nuke enemy team.

love me my siren...use her all de time, except where i love to be using most...in raid.

I adamantly believe that no atk based merc can be the single greatest. They can be hard countered too easily. As of right now, only atk has this problem.

If a super Niobe team were to exist, it would be effective against wis and agi too, not just atk.

I understand that some atk based lethals are godlike, but this weakness doesn't exist for wis and agi. My point is that this counter is easily available.

I beat a Mac ragged team last event this way. If he hit back with agi or wis, it would have been impossible.

My vote is jackson because of the sheer versatility in a team.

Who is 'zckn' and why does he have a Jackson? Just ran up against him in a pvp match. He's level 53, no title yet. Team consists of 'Blue bot - F-9 - Jackson - Hanzo - Archangel'

Not venting on duke specifically, but it really really irks me when players do this for the free 170 AC and PS. They are literally robbing Dakota of the equivalent of $150 worth of resource sales.

I gotta say, Nox is one of the best mercs too, if not THE best. Dominance is just so crucial against certain top-tier teams. I just fought Moba-Man with his team of Artemis - Double Gun - Bionic Bull Thor V2 - Double Gun - Artemis and I was running Fista - Tideslayer - Jackson - Nox (moved up from back row) - Fista. We both got all our procs and Nox went first, he proced Mercurial Beating killing one of the Artemis Riders and then Dominance. It was a beautiful thing. The rest of my mercs then cleaned up his before any had a chance to move. Nox made that happen.

Yep but on 3rd fights odds of dominance 2x are pretty low. Nox is a hit or miss ....if he procs her owns if he doesn't proc he's just another merc like every other one
