Kudos on your artistry CXB. So is your work the robotics, the ladies, or the fantastical creatures?

And is the graphic on your avatar here in the forum someone we can expect to see in the near (or distant) future? Looks like a cross between Annie Oakley and Wonder Woman. Bet her skills would be just as awesome as her kindred spirits.

From the looks of just her profile, I can imagine her as a Lethal merc holding a badass plasma shotgun riding on a mutt matriarch roaming free on the wild fatal frontier. Her skills would be:

Skill 1a: Buckshot - Spray heavy ATK damage to four enemies (2 targets+adjacent, 150% ATK modifier)
or
Skill 1b: Buckshot - Spray ATK damage to four enemies (4 targets - 2 outer targets get hit by 100% ATK, 2 inner targets get hit by 150% ATK)

Skill 2: Pounce - Mutt jumps on one target to pin them for one turn (150% AGI modifier, 100% stun to one target)

Raven, I think that is potentially the best lethal idea yet. Even the paint rendition has a certain panache to it haha. For once I hope content dev's pick up on that one.

I came into the game on Golem event I think. Even then I remembered thinking that these little ice bots hit like a truck.

I started right before golem event, and remember frantically tagging bosses with my super lame team trying to pick up as many rares as I could haha

Welcome to the forum CXB and happy anniversary! Santa was my first event. Played nearly every day since.

Raven, I like your lethal idea a lot. I would change the top two skill's names though. Something like Single Barrel and Double Barrel.

How about this for the two skills mentioned:

Rider - Double Barrel Blows
Mount - Immobilizing Fangs & Toes

We worked together for almost a year. Me, CXB and Marcus worked on the game since the beginning. He was the lead artist, I was the original line/character artist. Fun times !
I left, when Gameview closed it's doors. Him and my other awesome ex-colleagues are still going strong.  Hence me wishing them the best.

This game was my first title, so it will always be special to me.

thats awesome! i love to draw, ive been learning and practicing different bits and peices (mostly manual sketching since i have no access to any kind of image rendering software) for a while now but id be lying if i said i was anywhere near that kind of quality lol. teach me! lol just kidding

Haha, you don't need fancy programs to 'draw'.

The first 150 or so launch characters ( including ANDY up there) I drew them by hand, with pencil on paper, and inked with a $4 pen. It was only later that me & other line artists started drawing them digitally. There are several painting soft-wares that you can use for free (basic versions, no bells and whistles) that give you the same feel as 1000$ programs.

nice, thank you! so if its not top secret or whatever lol, where does the intitial character graphic design begin? do they already have skills and stats planned out, or give another sort of basic data skeleton for the artists to take and create something similar to the given profile? or is the image conception entirely the responsibility of the art team? i ask because im curious about the creative process behind these characters, if thats something youre able to discuss here

One thing I don't like is the fact that there are so many "trash" mercs.

Someone went to the trouble of drawing all of those mercs and the only regard I give them is to think that I might kind of like the look of them before I hit the discard button. It makes me feel sad....
