Oh where did my 5 stats go

So recently I have tried to make a few OPE 8/200c mercs and have only just noticed that they seem to be missing 5 stats across the board from what is on the wiki and what is up for trade on the X. I thought I understood the principals of the whole crystal and Evo thing and came up with my own procedure which I thought would be less confusing for myself. I would greatly appreciate it if someone could tell me where I am going wrong. Hopefully it makes sense. I have put in brackets what I am left with at the end of the step.


Step 1: Lvl 4 x R1 mercs to lvl 70 -> (4 x lvl1 R1, 4 x lvl70 R1)
Step 2: Evolve lvl70 R1 into lvl1 R1 -> (3 x lvl1 R1, 3 x lvl70 R1, 1 x lvl1 R2)
Step 3: Evolve lvl70 R1 into lvl1 R1 -> (2 x lvl1 R1, 2 x lvl70 R1, 2 x lvl1 R2)
Step 4: Lvl 2 x R2 mercs to lvl 70 -> (2 x lvl1 R1, 2 x lvl70 R1, 2 x lvl70 R2)
Step 5: Evolve lvl70 R1 into lvl1 R1 -> (1 x lvl1 R1, 1 x lvl70 R1, 1 x lvl1 R2, 2 x lvl70 R2)
Step 6: Evolve lvl70 R2 into lvl1 R2 -> (1 x lvl1 R1, 1 x lvl70 R1, 1 x lvl70 R2, 1 x lvl1 E1)
Step 7: Lvl 1 x E1 merc to lvl99 -> (1 x lvl1 R1, 1 x lvl70 R1, 1 x lvl70 R2, 1 x lvl99 E1)
Step 8: Add 50 crystals to the 4 remaining mercs
Step 9: Evolve the 4 remaining mercs

Which merc is it? As the process looks about right. Although I find it easier to first level all R1. I have the feeling that they level faster than evolved mercs.

I was under the impression that you lost stats if you lvled the target before you had fully evolved it.

However, I have triple checked things and found I was most likely getting confused with the last number on the HP and Wis Stats. Also the one on the X must have been an OPE 8/250. Pretty much this thread needs to be renamed: Danthepirate needs to check things three times before posting and here is the way Danthepirate does an OPE 8/200. Sorry for wasting people's time. Yeah it seems that way nimey and i can't find any issues above. A little confusing? Yeah maybe but if you are doing it right you learn thats the way, or at least as i understood it. I try to break it doen easier.

Level all 8 to lvl70 then add 50 crystals to 4 of the 8. Then use the enhanced four to one by one evolve each into the 4 that are not enhanced. This will leave you with 4 R2's usiang 200 crystals. Next, enhance two out of the four with 50 crystals a piece then as above evolve one enhanced R2 as the seed into one of the R2's not enhanced and repeat the same step with the other two. Which brings crystals used so far count to 300. That leaves you with two E3's that you now need to level from lvl70 to lvl99. Once done enhance ONE out of the last 2 then use the enhanced one as the seed and evolve it into the last un-enhanced E3 merc. After this is done enhance the finished merc with 50 crystals and your 8-1/400cc merc is complete.

Missing anything?

I had read stuff about losing stats if you lvl a merc before evolving other mercs into it. Clearly this isn't the case.

Basically, my way does work fine (there are no stats that have run away) I just got mixed up when checking the stats.

I am scared I will use a crystalled merc as a source when I shouldn't which is why I leave the crystalling right to the end.

I click and hold many times checking to make sure I'm going to put the right one in the right spot lol

I haven't found much use for going over 200 crystals unless it was something BIG, ie golem, mordeo etc or on personal preference. There are some i wish i could undo for various reasons lol

My thoughts are that if the merc is worth building, it's worth putting 200 crystals in it (unless it's a savage). I think POPE used to matter for going first purposes in PVP, until we got all the crazy buffs. I find it's pretty rare for me to do a PVP battle where at least 1 team isn't AGI buffed which means those extra 15 or so stat points are worthless.

I'm just not rich enough in game to be able to afford to 400c any merc really.

Losing stats in the evolution line happens with late bloomer I guess. Since they gain more in the later evos/ levels you're getting -stats first. Happened with my Primarch and several other mercs. Still they got PE stats in the end.

just remember, when doing an 8x200, put the crystals in the R1 source, PE R2 Source, PE E3 Source and lastly on the finished E4.

this is the most efficient way to crystal an 8x200.

You evolved the R1s into the R2 that has 5+ stats more then the other R2, but you used the lesser R2 as target. THis way you lost 5 stats.
